Starting March 5, 2024, Back 2 Basics Cooking, helmed by Chef Ashley, invites you to join an exclusive 6-week cooking class series, "Cooks in the Making." Located in Columbia, Missouri, these classes are held every Tuesday from 6 - 8 PM and are specially designed for adults who have missed out on learning to cook, aiming to transform kitchen novices into confident home chefs.

No problem! The series is thoughtfully designed, allowing you the flexibility to take each part in any order or even on its own.

 

Class Seven: Soup:Hearty Comfort Embark on your culinary journey with two comforting soup recipes that are perfect for colder months. You'll learn to create a robust and hearty beef and veggie soup as well as a creamy Thai pumpkin soup.

Class Eight: From Coop to Kitchen: Utilizing a Whole Chicken Master the art of breaking down and utilizing a whole chicken to minimize waste and maximize flavor.

​

Class Nine: Bread Baking Basics Discover the joy of fresh-baked bread as you create flavorful cornbread, quick bread, and banana bread.

​

Class Ten: Side Dish Success: Elevating Your Meal with Sides Learn to prepare a variety of side dishes that can elevate any meal, including potato salad, kale chips, cucumber-tomato salad, and roasted Brussels sprouts with bacon.

Class Eleven: Sweet Tooth Satisfaction Indulge your sweet tooth with easy-to-make desserts that are perfect for everyday cooking. We'll be making Apple pie cookies, fruity pinwheels, and a unique s'mores cheese ball.

Class Twelve: Bonus Class: Money-Saving Meal Prep Discover how to save money without sacrificing flavor or nutrition. This class will focus on meal prepping effectively, specifically for salads and Thai curries. We'll prepare a Honey Mustard Chicken Salad and Thai Meatballs with Rice - both excellent choices for meal prep and guaranteed to become your new favorites.
